Arranmore Island is located only a few miles from Burtonport and is accessible by the Arranmore Ferry Car ferries throughout the year. The comfortable crossing takes just 15 minutes and once there you can spend the day exploring the scenic views and drives the abound the beautiful Island.
Today, the island is a wonderfully peaceful place with a way marked trail leading from sandy beaches to the island’s rocky summit, providing spectacular views of the glittering sea, the cliffs, rock arches and the majestic mainland mountains; from Glen Head to Tory Island.

The crystal clear waters surrounding Arranmore provide great dive sites and sea angling, while the island’s freshwater lakes are home to brown and rainbow trout. Boats for sea angling can be hired and there are abundant cod, ling, conger eel, pollock, wrasse, skate, turbot and plaice. Birdwatchers will enjoy seeing fulmars and shags and climbers can tackle the steep cliffs.

Summer

In the summer months Arranmore Ferry Company have two boats, the M.V. Rhum and the M.V. Coll, running on a hourly basis with only 15 Minutes crossing time.

QUALIFIED

All staff are highly qualified and the Arranmore Ferry company complies with all Irish Marine Insurance and Legal requirements. Our staff are fully trained in First Aid and Defibrillator, which is carried on board.
The ferry can cater for all sizes of vehicles and for up to 96 foot passengers. The crossing takes just 15 minutes where one can enjoy the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in Donegal.

We currently accept Irish Free Travel Pass and Northern Ireland Senior SmartPass.
Our staff are always on hand to assist in ensuring that your crossing is both comfortable and enjoyable.
Tickets can be purchased online, at our booking office at Burtonport Pier or on board the vessel.
During the summer months it is advised to book your ticket prior to departure.
We can accommodate all sizes of groups at a competitive rate and can also arrange accommodation for the duration of your stay on the Island.
